This is both a strategic and hands on role that requires flexibility, excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to the delivery of IT software solutions across the business. The role holder will be responsible for the day to day leadership of software projects and the in-house software development team (Senior Developer & Software Developer) Providing strong project management for the development of the propriety application is a key part of the Lead Developer role.

The right candidate will be excited about the opportunity to lead an ambitious team of developers, to deliver improved internal and external functionality and drive service improvements as a member of the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Trident Leadership Team, provide a strategic outlook for the role of the IT function
  • Develop the software and system strategy for Trident
  • Deliver software development projects from inception to operations roll out, on time and to budget
  • Maintain the CR and SR requirements of the business, providing monthly management information to track progress
  • Provide a strong focus on the customer and the use of our in-house and external technology to enhance the customer experience
  • Identify risks and issues early and propose creative solutions to ensure successful project and customer service delivery
  • Identify technologies that future proof the business in the most cost-effective way

 

Skills / Experience Required

Essential:

  • Strong team working skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal skill
  • 5 years’ experience in leading software development projects
  • Software development capability – Microsoft .NET Framework
  • C# / Java script / T-SQL
  • Demonstrable project management and projects delivery experience
  • Strong commercial & analytical skills to measure IT solution impact on customer experience and ROI performance
  • Be able to think strategically and challenge the status quo
  • Have a positive and tenacious attitude
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Creativity and an eye for detail

Desirable:

  • Experience working with technology service solutions for B2B customers
  • Experience working with VMWare
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Knowledge of the energy consultancy services sector or energy supply experience will be helpful
