My client is looking for the best IT Service Desk Analyst to add to their existing team. The successful candidate MUST have worked in a similar role previously and be able to demonstrate working successfully within an ITIL environment. They must be disciplined and understand the value of manging tickets to SLAs, recording ticket details and prioritisation of their own workload.

The Service Desk is responsible for Desktops/Laptops, hardware/operations systems, MFDs, COTS (Customisable Off the Shelf packages), Microsoft Office365, SAP, Salesforce, WAN/LAN including Wi-Fi, Meeting Rooms, Telephony and Active Directory. The service is managed via an ITSM tool. Occasional cover for 1st Line may be required.

The Service Desk Analyst will work with 3rd parties and users, therefore on top of excellent technical skills they must show excellent customer facing service ability including excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The technical environment includes the following;

Technical Environment includes:

•           Windows 2016 Server, VMware ESX

•           Dell / EMC SAN

•           Oracle SUN Hardware, Servers, Storage and Desktops

•           Cisco switches and routers with approximately 170 home-based staff using ADSL / VPN access;

•           Mitel voice over IP telephone system;

•           Approximately 450 desktop and laptop PCs running mixtures of Windows 10 and Windows 7

•           Middleware Environment includes:

•           Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and remote e-mail monitoring

•           Sharepoint 2016 - web based collaborative team workplace.

•           Cardiff Teleforms - complete forms and document capture system.

•           Rightfax - enterprise fax and document delivery.

•           SilentPrint - automatically batch print and batch convert to PDF

•           Blackberry/HTC/IPhone

•           Wide area data network with approximately 170+ VPN connections

•           Microsoft Update Services, including Remote installation Services

If you are a dedicated Service Desk Analyst who can convert technical jargon to plain English and who has a solid technical background preferably MCP or MCSE, then this is a great opportunity. You should have solid A Levels and be used to working with minimum supervision with people at all levels in a company.

    • Develop and support data import and export processes.
    • Identify user requirements and develop solutions for reporting, queries, and data extraction.
    • Provide end-user training.
    • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications to management, customers, trading partners and end-users.
    • Assist in the general management of the Company’s Logistics system, and software suppliers.

You will be naturally tenacious with a natural ownership of problems and improvements that you are working on. We are looking at candidates from all levels, you do not have to have all the technical requirements if you posses the right mindset and attitude. Likewise, if you have a strong technical skills/experience match then you can potentially be at the top of the pay range. Our ideal candidate will have a College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.

    What will you be doing?

    Reporting to the Projects, Process and Delivery Leader, you will be part of a team delivering high-quality Business As Usual IT services to the group.     What skills/experience do you need to be successful in the role?

     

    We are looking for IT Infrastructure Professionals with at least 3 years relevant experience in a commercial business environment. You should have a good education (or solid proven success in an Infrastructure Engineer role) with solid technical qualifications.

    As well as exceptional soft skills in communication, planning, and user engagement, you should be able to demonstrate sound technical knowledge in the following areas.

    • Infrastructure, software, and hardware (e.g. Virtualisation, RDS, Networking, firewall technologies, Active Directory, PC, software & cloud deployment, Microsoft365, Exchange Administration, Azure AD and SharePoint.
    • Requires a supporting knowledge of telecommunications.
    • A good understanding of industry standards and cybersecurity, e.g. including but not limited to ISO9001, ISO027001, Cyber Essentials and ITIL.
    • Understanding of project management principles. Excellent coordination skills.
    • Ongoing technical skills developments and certification where required.
    • Experience in working on IT Service Delivery
    • Excellent skills in standard Windows Office applications – Word, Excel & PowerPoint, Office 365.

    Experience in SharePoint & planning tools such as MS Project is desirable but not essential.

    You will be responsible for delivering a professional level of remote IT Support to customers as well as assisting with routine backup monitoring. The successful applicant will be based at the Carlisle Office and will work full time Monday - Friday 08.30 - 17.00hrs.
