What will you be doing?

The Software Support Analyst / Engineer is a hands-on role within a small team to provide analytical and engineering resource for the company’s Logistics system and supporting applications. Duties include analysis of current business processes, creation of business and system requirement specifications, delivery of development projects, testing, providing end-user support, data import and extraction processes and EDI. The role will involve liaising with internal staff, external software vendors, trading partners and the business’s customer base.

  • Create system specifications, diagrams.
  • Create knowledgebase documentation.
  • Produce and maintain business process documentation.
  • End user support and problem resolution.
  • Manage the development and deployment of systems enhancements.
  • Testing software development and checking the requirements.
  • Identify and resolve program errors.
  • EDI configuration, implementation, and error management.
  • Test fixes and post resolution follow ups to ensure problems have been resolved.
  • Develop and support data import and export processes.
  • Identify user requirements and develop solutions for reporting, queries, and data extraction.
  • Provide end-user training.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications to management, customers, trading partners and end-users.
  • Assist in the general management of the Company’s Logistics system, and software suppliers.

 

What skills and experience do you need to bring to the role?

Your attitude to doing what it takes to identify problems and propose, define and test new solutions is the most important thing here. You will be naturally tenacious with a natural ownership of problems and improvements that you are working on. We are looking at candidates from all levels, you do not have to have all the technical requirements if you posses the right mindset and attitude. Likewise, if you have a strong technical skills/experience match then you can potentially be at the top of the pay range. Our ideal candidate will have a College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.

The IT Manager’s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organisation. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organisation, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department.

The IT Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organisation. This person will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

 

What will you be doing?

 

You will be leading the development and execution of the IT strategy, ensuring deep alignment with the organisation's goals and objectives. To do this you must be a natural in keeping current with the latest technology trends, fostering innovation, and direct research on potential technology solutions.

  • Oversee the creation, management and maintenance of an IT Department and technology roadmap, focusing on strategic priorities and future scalability.
  • Direct risk assessment initiatives, identify potential vulnerabilities, and establish mitigation strategies to support strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures that span architecture, security, disaster recovery, and purchasing, aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish and oversee IT governance frameworks and standard operating procedures including financial planning for the IT department, including budgeting, purchasing, and ongoing financial review.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define both business and system requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Approve and oversee projects within the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and governance frameworks.
  • Identify and eliminate shadow IT to ensure standardised processes and governance compliance.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Manage existing and potential external supplier relationships, including Requests for Proposal, negotiating, and administering contracts and service agreements.

What skills and experience do you need to bring to the role?

 

The role requires strong experience in leading IT functions with strong attention to detail in the delivery of technical solutions and IT services.  A university degree in the field of computer science or information technology, or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years related work experience. The skills required are a mixture of Technology Leadership, IT governance, Project Management and 3rd Party Service Management. You will need to show a willingness and attitude to get involved with whatever is necessary to deliver a great IT service to the business.

Strong leadership skills with excellent written and oral communication skills. You will possess a natural ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required which can then be presented in a user friendly non-technical manner.

  • Recognised certifications in IT governance or project management such as PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL.
  • Familiarity with ISO27001 and other relevant Information Security industry standards and frameworks such as CISSP, CompTIA.
  • Understanding of IT governance principles and frameworks
  • Proficiency in strategic IT planning and development
  • Appreciation of business analysis and process capture methodologies.
  • Acumen in disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and compliance requirements
  • Moderate technical expertise in network and PC operating systems
  • Working knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Understanding of Microsoft technologies and cloud computing
  • Awareness of relevant data privacy legislation and practices
  • Appreciation of solutions architecture, with a focus on aligning with business objectives
  • Fundamental knowledge of IT infrastructure components
  • Business case development and strategic planning
  • Budget and cost management, with a focus on cost reduction
  • Pro-active management of external suppliers and partnerships
